Getting ready to do it all over again

I'd be lying if I said I'm full of enthusiasm and excitement about starting my 6th module but I'm trying my best.

I bought a beautiful new academic diary as the one my sweet mother bought me last year isn't academic so it finishes in December. It's nice to have a change though. I ordered more Frixion pens and highlighters for my Rocketbook and for my diary (for mistakes!). Unfortunately I bought these before I got an email to take part in a uni study that gives you up to £20 in Amazon vouchers!

So I've already completed week 1 for DD310 which starts on the 3rd. Before I'm chastised for being a nerd, that week only involves reading the introduction and reading some info about the module so it's not much. I read the intro a couple weeks ago when I wanted something to read at bedtime too.

I've booked my tutorials which are mostly all online. I noticed some of the face-to-face tutorials planned for next year have already been cancelled.

Today I just did an intro to the first block (5 minutes audio) and then I've organised my entire week next week (starting Saturday) to work through week 2 and the same for the following week for week 3. This makes me one week ahead which is always a comfort.

The introduction said this module requires 18-20 hours of work a week which is a slight jump to previous years but so far, doing just one thing a day for these first few weeks seems to be enough, though I'll likely do more each day if I'm feeling up to it. Of course the hours will shoot up around TMA time. I'm actually trying to make time for the audios, online activities, posting on the forums etc.

I was planning to skip the majority of the note taking this year and only make notes for things related to my assignments but this year, the module is suggesting/expecting us to take notes on the chapters so I guess I'll have to go back to how I've always done it. I sometimes felt in my last modules that note-taking took up a lot of my study time and it often put me off continuing studying because if I knew I had note taking to do, I didn't want to bother but I also didn't want to get too far ahead and end up with even more notes to take!

I've unfortunately been assigned a tutor I had before that I really disliked (I've actually booked tutorials that don't have them in!) so I contacted student support straight away. After all, I'm paying for this degree, this module would be ruined for me if I had to have them as my tutor, so it's only fair they assign me to someone else. I thought that if you'd requested a different tutor before, they'd make a note of that and not put you in their tutor group again but evidently not.

Anyway, here's to another year of (stress) studying!
