Stuck in limbo

My course has officially begun! However, I feel I am stuck in limbo because I have already completed the first three weeks and done my assignment, whilst many students are just beginning on week one. I haven't been to a tutorial yet but there's one this Saturday. The learning material in week 4 and onward are used towards the second assignment so I feel like I'm a little too far ahead and I should slow down until I have been to a tutorial so I know if I'm on the right tracks or not. It doesn't make sense to continue writing assignments if I'm completely off the mark!

But my mother said "why not continue?" and she says it makes sense to continue being ahead, so I'm a little torn. I may continue, but only do the second assignment after I have been to this tutorial, then I could get that out of the way. I will only submit an assignment after I've been to their designated tutorial but those are about two weeks before the deadline so at this rate, I will always be limited to only being three weeks ahead.

Part of the first assignment is posting in a forum but that's not available yet and the second assignment is about reflecting on the tutor's feedback so there is a lot of limitations in how far ahead I can get. I don't want to be pulled back for too long otherwise I will lose my drive and motivation!
