Grades & Drama

A lot has gone on over the last several days. Firstly though, I got my first assignment back today and I passed with 83%! It's not as high as I hoped but it's still a good pass. The site currently says I have gotten "0" though as there was a mess up in the system due to my tutor marking my work early, then I resubmitted my assignment! It was mainly because I was being a perfectionist with my work and the alteration was minor. She says it should be changed in about 24 hours so I hope it does change to my actual score. Thankfully she rang me up about this before I checked my student account, because if she hadn't, I would've had a heart attack seeing a zero as my score (it's still tough to look at now)! 

The scoring has bothered me a little though, as the tutors are all different. Some students have received 95-100% whilst others have gotten around 80% (like me), but some students didn't format correctly or made a mistake in referencing, yet they got a higher score than me! My tutor hasn't pointed out any major issues with my assignment; she said almost everything was good and that I had already mastered referencing so I'm not entirely sure why I was limited to the 80% bracket. I've had to e-mail her to tell me basically where I went wrong/lost my marks.

In terms of the drama, the students are in a whatsapp group and there was one girl who was causing issues for everyone. In short, her behaviour is really odd and she's moaned about the OU from day one - everything is a drama with her.

I never expected to get this amount of drama with a distance learning university, but it's been amusing and I have made one or two friends over this month or so. I may be meeting them soon this weekend at Cardiff Met University, which will be exciting and nerve wracking!
